Unexpected Simplicity

   Having our first week behind us, we are beginning to find our routine and get into a good schedule. Every day that we can, which has been every day so far, we take a good long walk.  Tuesday's walk was coupled with the necessity to go to the grocery store.  Tommy was on campus, something about needing to teach, so the boys and I examined the mid-day bus schedule.  Since the bus runs infrequently during the middle of the day and since the sun sets at 4 p.m., we decided to walk to the grocery store, but by the time we were done, we would have had to wait for 15 minutes for the next bus, but we chose to make the 20 - 25 minute walk back with our groceries.
  Since we know that we have to transport everything in one trip without a car, we think differently about our buying options.  No soda to drink because no one wants to carry that, especially when we are already carrying milk for two growing boys!  No "shopping for the week" because we can't carry it in one load.  We are adjusting and making changes to our usual routine to fit our situation here.  We also have come to find out that there no tv reception here.  That is not a bad thing, just an unexpected change.

  One of the highlights from Tommy's Tuesday was seeing N.T. Wright on campus.  We are realizing that St Andrews is a VERY small town.

  During the day on Wednesday, we walked down by the coast to find the Old Course and the aquarium. We just located them and now know how to get back to them to visit them.
