A Few Highlights

We took the train with students into Edinburgh on Saturday.  It was a really great trip and fun day.  Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and has a rich history.  This is where John Knox preached during the Reformation.

 The Abbey, Holyrood Castle, Edinburgh
Amazing!

Protecting the Queen, though she is not in residence currently  :-)
See the boys in the guard booths?

The Royal Mile
Looking toward Edinburgh Castle
During the 16th century, the king would travel this route between the castle (on the hill) and the Palace of Holyrood which is where we spent most of our day.

Snowdrops in the Lade Braes today
Beautifully covered hills with these tiny, delicate flowers.
Spring is coming to Scotland!

These tiny yellow flowers, not sure what their name is, also cover much of the
hillsides along the walk.

This is one of my favorite places in the Lade Braes.
Love the bridge, love that we have to cross it to get "home" every day, love that it is all
moss-covered and Hobbit-looking and love those guys standing on it!
