St Andrews Botanic Gardens

St Andrews' first botanic garden dates from 1889. It was moved to its current site in 1960.
There are sheltered paths through greenhouses which house various plant types such as Mediterranean, Alpine, temperate and tropical, large plantings of trees and shrubs, a waterfall, pond, rock garden and a woodland garden.
It really was a great way to spend a morning.

A bit of Texas - prickly pear cactus, even if it is in a greenhouse

Coffee tree, complete with beans

Look at that stork

We had a great morning including snow flurries and winds gusting so strongly that we couldn't walk against them.  On the way home, we were rewarded with this rainbow.
