There are really interesting land formations all along the coast line - perfect for two boys to
explore and conquer.
Not sure if you an see it, but our goal was to get to the castle-looking rock formation.
We did get that far on the path (and beyond) but could not get down to those rocks.
They love getting as close to the waves as they can.
We have not had a day with waves this low.
These moss covered rocks were really interesting and held many treasures of seaweed, shells and other boy-friendly finds.
Here we are a little ways up the coast with the St Andrews Cathedral in the background.
The path was quite muddy in most places, but we are teaching the boys to "stay on the high side" which is usually less muddy.

This cow stile was the turnaround point for us today. After this, it was REALLY muddy.

Walking 5+ miles = trip to Costa for hot chocolate and caramel shortbread.
Not a single complaint from these troopers!
You guys are producing two young explorers! What awesome pictures and what a life-long memory. We miss and love the Kidds! Grace and peace to all four of you!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if there is any opportunity for the boys to learn a bit about the local/native language while there in country. They are at an age when their brain is a virtual sponge for language and linguistic elements though the Celtic dialects (Scottish Gaelic included) are certainly among the more challenging of IndoEuropean Sub Groups.
